If you live in a condo and you are looking to replace your windows these tips will help you. Generally condo associations require that the outside of windows and the trim around the windows match all of the other windows. In most cases you will not need to match faded colors or trim that requires paint. The condo project in these pictures is located in Foxboro MA, FHI Windows was selected by the board of directors as the window installation company for the project. Once the board of directors selected the style of windows and the colors of the window and outside trim the condo owners were able to upgrade their units as time and money permitted. With these condos in Foxboro the windows were priced as a package with options for the interior. The condo owners were also able to select double pane or triple pane glass since it would not affect how the outside looked. Here is a before picture.
If you look at the picture of the old wooden casement windows you will notice how the windows are warped and how the wood is starting to rot away. When these windows were removed there was a real strong mold/mildew type of smell around them. If these windows were not replaced the wood at the bottom of the windows would of fell off and in some cases the glass would be able to fall out of the rotten wooden frames.
If you look at the after picture you will notice that the exterior trim is replaced with a color match metal covering that matches all of the other metal in the condo complex. The exterior color of the windows is an off white that blends in with the color of the siding. |
