Triple Pane Patio Doors Sliding in Style,Question: We are looking at purchasing triple pane patio doors and are wondering if the extra glass makes them harder to slide? Answer: In most cases a triple pane patio door will slide much easier than your existing patio door. While the extra layer of glass adds weight to the door, the rollers and roller track are designed to carry the weight without much resistance. When my company tests a new door or after we finish a patio door installation we try to shut the door using our "little finger test". If I can open and shut a patio door with my little finger then my elderly clients with arthritis should be able to operate the door with ease. If you have any concerns, feel free to travel to my warehouse in Foxboro MA and test one of my sample triple pane patio doors. Good luck on your replacement patio door project and feel free to contact us with any questions |
